    ONE POT veg paya

If you are a big fan of hotel-style appam paya, this pressure cooker empty vegetarian version with just onions and tomatoes is perfect. Pressure cookers take care of most of the cooking; a boil and a dish are ready in no time.

    Should I soak the ingredients?

I prefer roasting as it gives an aromatic taste. Instead, you can soak and grind. For flavor and perfect grinding of poppy seeds and cashews, I would recommend soaking or sautéing

Should I pulse or grind the mixture?

Grind well so that the coconut will curdle while cooking, also, cashews get blended well.

    Can I reduce the water?

Cashew and poppy seeds make parotta paya thick, so I would prefer adding extra water

Should I use measured water for the empty paya recipe?

It is optional, but to make the recipe beginner-friendly, I have given the measurements. Feel free to adjust according to your preferred consistency.

    road kadai empty paya

To make a flavorful vegetarian version of empty veg paya with just onion and tomato, add the ingredients under “to grind”. For a tangy flavor, you can add curd or lemon juice, or tomato is enough for the recipe.

HOW TO MAKE INSTANT POT PAYA

Follow the steps and cook for 2 minutes for the IP veg salna recipe

    Oil for Kurma

Peanut oil or Coconut oil gives the best taste, but you can add any oil of your choice.

How to serve pressure cooker paya

It goes well as a side dish for Tiffin varieties like parotta, appam, idiyappam, chappati, idli, dosai, etc. Also tastes good with rice.
