Instant Mango Pickle

Instant mango pickle is a quick pickle which can be prepared within 5 minutes

  • Raw Mango - 1 chopped
  • Red Chilli powder - 1 tsp
  • Fenugreek seeds powder - 1/8 tsp
  • Salt – as needed
  • Sesame Oil - 1 tbsp
  • Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
  • Asafoetida– a generous pinch


  • Chop the raw mango and transfer into a mixing bowl. In a pan, heat oil and temper mustard seeds and switch off the flame. Transfer the mustard seeds into mixing bowl, leaving oil in the pan
  • Add fenugreek seeds powder, red chilli powder, salt and asafoetida. Mix everything with the chopped mango

  1. Add Chilli powder and fenugreek powder immediately after adding the hot temper. Alternative Chilli powder and fenugreek powder can be added to cut mango and tempering can be added later
  2. Sesame oil is recommended for pickle
  3. Pinch of sugar can be added
  4.  Pickle tastes good for 2 days
