Strawberry rasam

Ingredients

To grind

  • 150 grams strawberry
  • 125 grams tomatoes
  • 1/2 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • Required Salt

Pulse

  • 3 garlic
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds

Temper

  • 1/2 tablespoon ghee
  • 1/4 teaspoon fenugreek seeds
  • 1/8 teaspoon omam
  • Curry leaves few
  • 1 green chilli
  • Asafoetida

Rasam

  • 1 cup +3/4 cup Water
  • 1/4 teaspoon Kashmiri chilli powder
  • Coriander leaves few
  • Freshly Crushed pepper

Instructions

Grind

  • firstly wash strawberries in a colander and discard the water
  • Add tomatoes, strawberry, turmeric powder, coriander powder, and required salt
  • Pulse ingredients
  • Take garlic, pepper, and cumin seeds in a mixie jar and pulse twice

To temper

  • Add ghee and turn on the stove on medium flame
  • when ghee is hot add mustard seeds,omam and fenugreek seeds; splutter
  • Add curry leaves, green chilli, and asafoetida; mix well

Prepare rasam

  • Add pulsed mixture and saute for 1 minutes
  • Furthermore, add tomato strawberry; boil
  • add water, coriander leaves, chilli powder; cook rasam for around 5 minutes on low-medium flame
  • When you see a frothy boil turn down to low flame
  • add freshly crushed pepper; mix well and turn off the stove
  • Finally add lemon juice and serve
