Measure and take 1/4 cup of poha in a colander and wash it twice and filter
Transfer the washed poha into a bowl and add hot water
Cover and soak for 5 minutes
Add 1 tablespoon of ghee to a heavy-bottomed pan and heat in low - medium heat
When ghee is hot add cashews and sugar and saute well
Roast till cashews turn golden brown and simmer on the stove
Gradually add hot milk, soaked aval, cardamom powder, and a pinch of salt
Turn to medium flame and boil the payasam for 6 minutes, mix well in between
Tasty Aval paal payasam is ready
