Serve

  • Nuts of your choice

Instructions

  • Cut each bread into 4 pieces. I used 2 bread slices, so a totally 8 pieces
  • Use a chappathi roller and flatten the cut bread slices
  • Transfer the sliced bread to a wide tray
  • Pour malai all around and on top of the bread
  • Refrigerate for 2 hours. If you don't prefer soggy bread serve immediately but well-soaked bread tastes best

Notes

  1. When we don’t have time to make paneer, this version is perfect for sudden cravings. but still want to eat Rasmalai. It is also a tasty fusion dessert for potluck/ dinner parties / Diwali get together
  2. You can use wheat, oats, or any bread of your choice but I would recommend maida bread as it gives the best taste and texture
  3. To make it kids friendly portion size I have cut the bread into 4 pieces. You can cut each bread into the desired number of pieces
  4. Malai stays good in the fridge for 2 days. If you are preparing rasmalai for a dinner party, just soak it for 2 hours. avoid soaking for a longer time as soggy bread might break into pieces. You can mix bread and milk just before serving but I prefer soaking for at least 2 hours and refrigerating.
