Maa Ladoo / Maladu / Pottukadalai Laddu | Roasted Gram Balls

Protein rich Maa laddu with roasted gram makes a filling evening snacks for kids. Pottukadalai laddu is a quick sweet which can be prepared within 10 minutes. These roasted gram Urundai are so addictive can't stop with on.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Pottukadalai /Roasted Gram
  • 3/4 cup sugar Adjust according to your Sweetness
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cardamom Powder
  • 1/3 cup Ghee
  • Salt - pinch

Instructions

  • In a mixie jar add pottukadalai and grind into a fine powder
  • Add sugar to the same jar and grind into fine Powder, giving regular interval inbetween
  • In a wide pan add 2 tablespoon of ghee and when the ghee is hot add cashews; saute them into golden brown
  • Turn down the flame of tow and add ground mixture and 3 tablespoon of hot melted ghee
  • Turn off the stove and mix well, the mixture will comes together
  • If mixture is not binding well add little more ghee
  • Let the mixture turns warm, Do not allow the mixture to cool down completely
  • Grease your hands with little ghee and take a small portion of the dough
  • Roll well and transfer to the plate
  • After the Maladu is cool transfer into a airtight container

Notes

  1.  Jaggery/ brown sugar can be used instead of white sugar. Grate the jaggery and pulse it well and add it to the roasted gram flour
  2. Dates can be used instead of sugar (Refer Nuts & Dates Ladoo)
  3. Confectionery (Powdered) sugar can be used instead  lg powderedimg the sugar
  4. Cardamom pods can be used instead of Powder
  5. Turbinado sugar can also be used instead of brown sugar. Pulse it before adding
