Ingredients

COARSE crush

  • 1 tablespoon coconut
  • 1/2 fennel seeds
  • 1 small onion
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 2 garlic
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper

Temper

  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 tablespoon chana dal
  • 1 Red chilli
  • 1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • Curry leaves
  • 1/2 tablespoon urad dal
  • 1 teaspoon asafoetida

Kara soru

  • 1 +1/2 cup cooked rice heaped
  • Required salt
  • 2 teaspoon sambar powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon ghee

Instructions

  • First crush, fennel seeds, small onion, garlic, coconut, and cumin seed
  • Mix rice, sambar powder, and salt; keep aside
  • Add sesame oil to a pan and heat the oil
  • Furthermore, add mustard seeds, urad dal, chana dal, red chilli, peanuts, curry leaves; splutter
  • Add asafoetida and mix well
  • Furthermore, add crushed mixture; mix well and roast well till color changes
  • Turn down to the lowest flame
  • Add rice;  mix well and cook for 1+1/2 minute
  • Finally, add ghee; mix well and turn off the stove
