Firstly wash and soak dal for at least 1 hour
Discard the water and add a 1:3 ratio of water, a pinch of turmeric powder, and a drop of oil
Pressure cook for 3 whistles and let the pressure release naturally
Mix well
Furthermore add water, onion, mixed veggies, and tomato; bring to boil
Add tamarind water, required salt, jaggery, sambar powder and coriander leaves
If it is thick add extra water otherwise sambar might burn
Bring to a frothy boil; pressure cook for 2 whistles
Boil for 5 minutes or till you get the desired sambar consistency
