Firstly, add 1 tsp of ghee and 1 cup of milk powder in a wide, heavy-bottomed pan
Turn on the stove to low to medium and roast
After 2 minutes, add 1 tsp of ghee and continue roasting
Mix well in between for even roasting. It takes around 10-12 minutes to roast milk powder to a golden brown. Avoid turning the flame too high
Once milk powder turns golden brown, add 2 tbsp of milk and mix well
Furthermore, add 1 tbsp of milk and mix well
Furthermore, add 1 tsp of ghee and mix well
Add 1 tbsp of milk and mix well
Furthermore, add 1 tsp of ghee and mix well
Add 1 tbsp of milk and ghee; mix well
Finally, add powdered sugar and turn off the stove
Mix well and make sure the sugar is well blended
Immediately transfer the peda mixture to a wide vessel
After 2 minutes (or when you can handle the peda mixture with your hands), grease your hands with a little ghee and pinch a small portion and shape into cylinders/balls/pebbles/logs or as you wish
Finally, roll the peda in sugar. Dharwad pedhas are ready.
