Delicious Dhabba-style Rajma Masala served with rice and bread in a pressure cooker.

Ingredients

soak

  • 3/4 cup rajma
  • To pressure cook

To pressure cook

  • 1/2 tbsp peanut oil
  • 1 big onion
  • 2 big tomatoes I used vine tomato
  • 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
  • 1/2 tsp + 1 tsp Kashmiri chilli powder heaped
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1/2 tbsp ghee
  • 1/8 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 cups water
  • bay leaf
  • cinnamon
  • clove
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds

garnish

  • 1 tsp butter
  • coriander leaves
  • kasoori methi
  • 1 tbsp butter

Instructions

  • Soak rajma overnight
  • grind tomatoes and keep them aside
  • Add all the ingredients under "to pressure cook"; cook for 8 whistles and simmer for 15 minutes
  • add water and boil
  • turn off the stove
  • finally add butter, heavy cream, coriander leaves and kasoori methi
