Ingredients

Soak rice

  • 1 cup basmati rice
  • Enough water

Soak soya chunks

  • 1 cup soya chunks | meal maker
  • Enough hot water

Marinate

  • 1 tablespoon curd
  • 1/4 cup coconut milk
  • 1 teaspoon biryani masala
  • Required salt
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala

Temper

  • 1 tablespoon ghee
  • Small pieces cinnamon
  • 1 clove cardamom
  • 1 teaspoon fennel seed
  • 6 cashews

Biryani

  • 1/2 cup onion
  • 2 green chilli
  • 1/2 tablespoon ginger garlic paste
  • 2 cups spinach
  • 1/4 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 + 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 teaspoon biryani masala

Instructions

  • Firstl add soya chunks and hot water to a wide vessel and let it soak for 10 minutes or until soya turns soft
  • After the soya is well soaked, squeeze well and discard the water; Transfer the soya
  • Add all the ingredients mentioned under “marinate”; mix well
  • marinate for at least 15 minutes
  • Wash the rice well and soak for 10 minutes
  • Add ghee to a pressure cooker
  • turn on the stove to medium flame and heat the ghee
  • add items under “temper” and roast
  • furthermore, add onion, green chilli, and ginger garlic paste; mix well
  • Turn down to flame
  • sauté marinated soya and biryani masala for a minute
  • furthermore, add rice; mix well
  • add water;bring to boil
  • Furthermore add spinach and sesame oil; mix well
  • close the cooker; pressure cook for 1 whistle and do natural pressure release
  • gently open the rice and fluff
