First, wash and soak rice with enough hot water for 1 hour
crush pepperĀ in mortar & pestle to your desired texture
Add rice, water, and salt; pressure cook for 5 whistles and simmer for 1 minute; do natural pressure release
Mash well when the rice is hot
Furthermore, add water andĀ salt; mix well
Add ghee to a pan and heat
When ghee turns hot add asafoetida; mix well till ghee turns frothy
Turn off the stove
Finally, add pepper and mix well
Transfer to the Pongal and mix well
