- first,Pressure cook potatoes with water and a pinch of turmeric powder 
- Cool and peel 
- Mash the potatoes 
- Add salt, turmeric powder, and sambar powder; mix well 
- Temper mustard seeds, urad dal, and fennel seeds 
- Add curry leaves, onions, and garlic; saute well 
- Add potato mixture; cook in low- low-medium flame 
- mix well in between and cook till the potato turns into crumbly texture
