Ingredients

  • 1 banana stem
  • Water
  • Curd
  • Turmeric powder

To grind

  • 1/4 cup coconut
  • 1 green chilli
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 tablespoon curd
  • Water

To temper

  • 1/2 tablespoon coconut oil
  • Curry leaves
  • 1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 1/2 tablespoon urad dal
  • Kootu

Kootu

  • Salt

Instructions

  • Mix water and a little curd
  • Chop banana stem and add in buttermilk to avoid discoloration
  • Grind ingredients under “to grind”
  • temper mustard seeds, urad dal, curry leaves
  • Add cooked banana stem, ground mixture, cooked water; boil
  • Add salt; boil
  • Add curry leaves; turn off and cool
  • whisk and curd; add and serve
