Ingredients

  • Carrots - 2 peeled and cut into the shape of fries
  • Panko bread crumbs - 2 tbsp
  • Salt - as need
  • Pepper - as needed
  • Dry basil - to taste
  • Garlic powder - pinch
  • Oil - 1 tsp

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400 degree Fahrenheit . Place a parchment paper on a Tray
  • In a wide bowl add all the listed ingredients and mix well
  • Add the carrots and spread it. Bake it for around 14- 18 minutes. Broil for 2-3 minutes or more based on the texture you prefer. Enjoy with your favorite dip

Notes

  1.  Baking time may vary depending on the oven and also the thickness of the carrot. Watch out after 15 minutes 
  2. Coconut, corn flakes, coarse nuts powder etc. can be used for crispy outer layer
  3. Chilli powder can be used instead of pepper powder
  4. Garam masala, kitchen king masala etc. can be used for Indian version of carrot fries
  5. Fries taste great of consumed immediately
  6. Any dips can be taken as s side. We mostly have it with coffee and finish even before thinking about a dip?

  2. For those asking about air fryer or convection oven baking, follow Vidya’s recipe, even the same temperature, but stay close! Start checking for “doneness” at about eight minutes, as less time is often needed due to that air flow around whatever’s inside the air fryer or convection overn moved the hot air around more evenly. One good thing – these are carrots, so if they’re a little “under done” in the middle, unless you’re cooking for someone who’s picky about the texture of their food, it doesn’t really matter.
