This Cheesy Garlic Onion Bread Spread is a quick, creamy, café‑style topping that transforms simple toasted bread into a delicious cheesy toast. Made with sautéed onions, garlic, butter, milk, and mozzarella, this stovetop spread comes together in just 10 minutes and thickens beautifully as it cools. Perfect for breakfast, after‑school snacks, party appetizers, or a cozy evening treat. A great addition to your snack recipes and cheese‑based dishes.

Why add jaggery to a savory spread? A tiny pinch balances the flavors and enhances the caramelized onion taste.

Can I use milk alternatives? Yes — oat milk or almond milk works, but the spread may be slightly less creamy.

Can I replace mozzarella? Cheddar, processed cheese, or a mix of both melt well and taste great.

Why did my spread turn too thick? It thickens as it cools; add a splash of hot milk to loosen it.

Can I make this ahead of time? Yes — store in the fridge for a day and warm gently before spreading.

Can I add vegetables? Finely chopped capsicum, corn, or spinach work well.

Can I make it spicy? Increase red chilli flakes or add green chilli for extra heat.

Why sauté garlic and onion first? It removes the raw smell and builds a deep, savory base for the spread.

Can I skip coriander leaves? Yes — parsley or spring onions are good substitutes.

Can I use this as a pasta sauce? Absolutely — thin it with milk and toss with cooked pasta.

Can I use this as a sandwich filling? Yes — spread inside grilled sandwiches for a cheesy, melty center.
