Cheerios Laddu (or Cornflakes Ladoo / Cereal Balls) is the quickest sweet you can make — a simple 5‑minute, no‑cook recipe that turns everyday cereal into a delicious Indian‑style laddu. With just cereal, a little syrup, cardamom, and optional nuts or dried fruits, these bite‑sized balls come together effortlessly and make a perfect after‑school snack, travel treat, or last‑minute sweet craving fix.

This recipe is wonderfully flexible: use Cheerios, cornflakes, or any cereal you have on hand. Light corn syrup, maple syrup, or pancake syrup helps bind the mixture, while cardamom adds that familiar Indian sweet aroma. Kids love it, adults enjoy it, and you’ll love how fast it is to prepare — mix, pulse, shape, done—a great addition to your Laddu recipes and Indian sweets collection.

Can I use any cereal for this laddu? Yes. Cheerios, cornflakes, or any unsweetened cereal works well. Sweetened cereal will make the laddus sweeter.

Why is my mixture not binding? Add a little more syrup — ¼ teaspoon at a time — until it holds shape.

Can I add nuts or dried fruits? Absolutely. Almonds, pecans, walnuts, raisins, cranberries, apricots, or prunes all work beautifully.

Can I add ghee or butter? Yes. A teaspoon of melted ghee adds richness and enhances flavor.

Is cardamom powder necessary? No, but it adds a classic Indian sweet aroma. You can also use vanilla, rose, or almond extract.

How long do these cereal laddus stay fresh? They stay good for 3–4 days at room temperature in an airtight container.

Can kids help make this recipe? Yes! It’s a great kid‑friendly recipe since there’s no cooking involved.

  1. I am so in love with this recipe. You see cereal all types are probably my favorite thing to eat. I could eat it instead of a regular meal. This is awesome.
