    Should we use sesame oil?

    Sesame oil gives best flavor for tamarind based dish also helps for shelf life.

    Should I cook tamarind?

    Traditionally Pachai puli chutney is prepared with soaked tamarind. No need to cook the chutney. 

    Should I saute onion and garlic?

    Based on your preferred flavor saute onion and garlic

    Will the chutney be spicy?

    Spice depends on the red chilli you use. Adjust according to your spice level

     Serving suggestion

    Goes well with south Indian tiffin varieties and parthas

    CHUTNEY RECIPES IN TMF

    THOGAYAL RECIPE IN TMF 

    Ingredients

    5 Red chilli

    1 garlic

    5 small onion

    Small Lemon size Tamarind

    Water

    Salt

    Jaggery

    1+1/2 tablespoon Sesame oil

    How to make pacha puli chutney with step-by-step pictures

    • add red chili, garlic, small onion, tamarind, and water; soak for till tamarind comes soft press

    • Transfer to a mixie jar

    • Add jaggery and salt; grind

    • Furthermore, add extra water if you need smooth chutney

    • heat oil; add and mix. Serve after resting for sometime
