Kuzhambu thogayal Kootu – lunch combo

Meal planning

  • Chop and keep, carrot and chayote  ready
  • if you are using frozen coconut, thaw them
  • Keep rice 
  • Soak dal for 20 minutes

Lunch cooking 

  • Turn on IP sauté mode, do the tempering, and press cancel
  • Add chopped carrot, chayote, soaked dal, Sambar powder, turmeric powder, and water; cook kootu
  • do tempering for kuzhambu and prepare kuzhambu 
  • when Kuzhambu is boiling in a separate pan saute  all the ingredients for coconut thogayal and let it cool
  • After kootu pressure release naturally add salt,  boil the kootu 
  • ground coconut thogayal 
  • Microwave appalam for 1 minute and serve lunch
