Millet masala sevai
Healthy millets make a great filling tiffin. You can also pack it for school lunch
Can I grind tomato?
My kids sometimes discard tomato pieces so I prefer grinding. You can fine-chop them
Can I reduce tomatoes?
Adjust the tomatoes according to the sourness. I used vine tomatoes.
Should I steam cook millets?
No, it is optional. If you cook till millets turn to soft press, it yields soft sevai even after hours. Overcooking, millet might turn them mushy.
CAN I SKIP kitchen king MASALA
it gives a good flavor to the thakkali millet sevai. You can skip. Adjust the masala powders according to your taste
Sevai varieties
I have used thinai sevai. Instead, you can use any sevai variety of your choice. If you are using rice sevai, soak for additional time also steam cook if required.
Always saute tomato thokku well
add sevai only after tomatoes turn thokku consistency and the raw smell goes off. Else sevai won't taste good
CAN I USE peanut OIL FOR COOKING?
yes, you can any variety of oil.
SIDE DISH FOR tomato sevai
seva goes well with varuval, raita varieties, gutti vankaya kura, kathirikai chops, plain kurma, mirchi salan, chutney and raita
