Pressure cook
1 raw banana
1 nendran
1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 cup water
1/2 teaspoon pepper
2 green chilli
1 teaspoon salt
To grind
1 cup coconut, heaped
3 green chilli
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
2 tablespoon + 1/2 cup curd
To temper
1 tablespoon coconut oil
Red chilli
Curry leaves
1 teaspoon mustard seeds
Katti kalan
Water
Fenugreek seeds 1/4 tsp
How to make Kurukku kalan with step by step pictures
- First, Add the ingredients under “pressure cook”for 1 whistles
- Grind the ingredients mentioned under “to grind”
- Add the ground mixture and little water to the cooked vegetables; cook for 4 minutes
- Heat coconut oil
- Furthermore add mustard seeds, red chilli and curry leaves; splutter
- Transfer to the katti kalan
- Finally add fenugreek seeds; mix well and cover till serving
