    One-pot tomato rice

    For a busy morning, if you are looking for an easy tomato rice recipe that doesn't require sauteeing or spending minutes together in the kitchen, this pressure cooker tomato rice is perfect. simple cooked meal to lunchbox recipe to  dinner parties, this is perfect

    Can I grind tomatoes?

    I would recommend fine-chopping tomatoes. You can even chop them big. Avoid grinding them. 

    Can I reduce tomatoes?

    Adjust the tomatoes according to the sourness. I used vine tomatoes.

    Should I add curd?

    If the tomatoes you use are not sour, adding a little curd helps with the flavor

    Can I reduce masala  

    Yes, this version gives a khuska flavor. If you prefer a subtle taste, reduce the masalas

    RICE FOR pressure cooker tomato pulao

    I have used basmati rice. You can use any variety of rice according to your choice. Adjust water accordingly.

     

    Will rice have a raw flavor?

    No, you won't feel the raw smell. The rice turns flavorful

    SHOULD I SOAK RICE?

    I soaked the rice for 20 minutes. Adjust the soaking time according to the rice variety you use.

    CAN I USE OIL FOR COOKING?

    Yes, you can use any variety of oil.

    Rice goes well with varuval, raita varieties, gutti vankaya kura, kathirikai chops, plain kurma,  mirchi salan, and raita

    CAN I cook tomato rice IN THE INSTANT POT?

    Yes, for the Instant Pot version, avoid soaking the rice. Add 1: 1 + 1/2  liquid, cook for 5 minutes, and do natural pressure release.

    CURD-BASED RECIPES IN TMF

    Ingredients

    mix and squeeze

    2 tablespoon peanut oil

    Bay leaf

    Cinnamon

    Stone flower

     1 teaspoon garam masala

    Clove

    1 teaspoon biryani masala

    2 cups of Onions

    1 teaspoon coriander powder

    2 + 3/4 cups Tomatoes

    1 teaspoon Kashmiri chilli powder

    2 tablespoon thick curd

    1/2 tablespoon salt

    Mint leaves

    1 teaspoon ginger garlic paste

    4 green chillies

    Rice

    1 cup sona masoori rice

    1/4 cup coconut milk

    1 cup +3/4 cup water

    Ghee

    Coriander leaves

    How to make thakkali soru with step-by-step pictures

    • ️wash and soak rice for 20 minutes️
    • Add all the ingredients under “mix and squeeze”; use a masher or a hand and mix well

    • Furthermore, add the rest of the ingredients; mix well

    • ️Pressure cook for 2 whistles

    • ️Fluff the rice and add coriander leaves
