    Best summer drink

lassi is a popular Indian beverage that is made from blending ripe mangoes with yogurt, milk, sugar, and sometimes a touch of cardamom. It is a refreshing and creamy drink that is enjoyed during the hot summer months. Lassi is a traditional yogurt-based drink, and mango lassi is a variation that incorporates the tropical flavor of mangoes. It isa popular drink in Indian restaurants.

    Choose right mangoes

For making lassi, it is best to use ripe and sweet mangoes.Alphonso mangoes, Kesar mangoes, and Ataulfo mangoes are traditionally used. You can make lassi with any variety of mangoes available.

    Refrigerate the mangoes

Always refrigerate mangoes before making lassi as it givesthe best taste and texture.

    Can I add ice?

That might alter the richness of lassi.

    Frozen or canned mangoes

Fresh mangoes are always preferred but if it is not available you can use canned or frozen mangoes.

How to adjust the taste if mango is tart

Choose ripe sweet mangoes but if it is still tart add extra sugar

    Other spices for lassi

Traditionally cardamom is used in Punjabi lasdi.  You can also use saffron, nutmeg, cinnamon, rose water, kewra water,  vanilla extract for different flavor.

    Can I increase yogurt?

Yes if you like sour taste. I prefer I mango lassi with more mango flavor so I make this this way

    Dahi for lassi

I prefer to use homemade thick non sour curd. If you are using sour cream or Greek yogurt add extra milk to adjust the consistency.

    Topping

You can add chopped pistachios, saffron, almonds or any other topping of your choice

    Shelf Life

It is better to consume homemade mango lassi within 24 hours.
