Dahi kebab | Pottukadalai Cutlet | Nuts kebab Protein rich evening snacks with nuts, roasted gram and sour cream. This after-school Dahi kebabs can be prepared within 15 minutes. If you have a surprise guest Pottukadalai cutlet with sour cream is perfect. Mixed Nuts cutlet is a great appetizer too.

Giving a healthy snack for kids is every mom’s biggest concern. When Vishvak was around 2, I was experimenting few evening snacks. I had Dahi kebab in a friend’s house. She said it is prepared  with roasted gram and I thought it is a great snack for my toddler, well when I saw this post he was a toddler. Time flies so fast

Coming back to the kebab, Aruna’s curd based cutlet was in my mind for a longtime. Only one thing that stopped me from doing it is hung curd. I am sure it would have given a nice flavor but for a lazy cook like me who plans things in last minute, was looking for alternatives.

Luckily, I remembered my usual Hung curd substitute, sour cream.

Check out my other recipes with sour cream.

When it comes to eating nuts I always hear a big no from Vishvak.  I generally buy a big box of Kirkland mixed nuts and powder a small batch and keep it handy. Whenever I make some tiffin for him I will add a little.

For cutlet I tried a roasted Gram and sour cream version first, and it was a big hit in our home. One day I didn’t have enough roasted Gram for cutlet and thought of adding little nuts powder. Not only Vishvak, we all got addicted to the Mixed nuts kebab.

Vishvak likes snacks on the crispy side so I add less sour cream and more roasted Gram and nuts powder. If you like the kebabs to be on softer side add more sour cream and less nuts powder. Either way, believe me it a win- win snack.✋️✋️

Roasted Gram sour cream kebabs are shallow fried with very less oil. Which makes it less-guilty snacks for adults too. For the mentioned quantity, end to end the kebabs can be prepared within 15 minutes, which gives another big yes for Mixed nuts cutlet.

Hop on to Protein rich, Shallow fried mixed nuts and roasted Gram Sour cream kebab. Well I really don’t know what to name this dish, but this is one filling and healthy appetizer kids will love.
