Other Vegetables for pulao

Yes, you can use vegetables like corn, capsicum, potatoes, mushroom, paneer, etc for pulav.

CAN I COOK VEGETABLE PULAO IN THE INSTANT POT?

Yes, for the instant pot version avoid soaking the rice. Add 1: 1 + ½  water, cook for 5 minutes and do natural pressure release. 

 

CAN I COOK VEGETABLE PULAO IN OIL?

Yes, using ghee is optional but gives a good flavor to the pulav. You can use oil for cooking and add a few drops of ghee for aroma.

I have used no onion no garlic kitchen king masala that my friend gave. If you are making this pulao on fasting days check the ingredients then use masala.

Ingredients

soak

⅓ cup basmati rice

water to soak

temper

1 tablespoon ghee

6 cashews

½ teaspoon cumin seeds

Vegetable pulao

55 grams of mixed vegetables

⅛ teaspoon turmeric powder

½ teaspoon kitchen king masala

⅓ cup water

Required salt

⅓ cup milk

How to make No onion no garlic Veg pulao with step-by-step pictures

  • Firstly wash and soak rice for 15 mins

  • Add 1 tablespoon of ghee to the pressure cooker.  When the ghee is hot, add cashew and saute till they start to change color

  • Furthermore, add cumin seeds; mix well, and let it roast

  • Add mixed veggies; mix well and saute for 30 seconds

  • Furthermore, add turmeric powder, kitchen king masala, and salt; mix well and saute for 1 minute

  • Add rice and mix well

  • Furthermore milk and water; mix gently and bring to boil

  • After the water starts to frothy boil,  mix well to make sure rice is not stuck to the cooker

  • pressure cook for two whistles; turn off the stove

  • After the pressure subsides naturally, open the cooker
  • Gently mix and fluff the rice
