Ingredients

  • Green Moong bean - 1/3 cup
  • Moong dal - 1/3 cup
  • Rice - 1/4 cup
  • Water - 2 cup + 1/2 cup
  • Turmeric powder - 1/8 tsp
  • Salt - as needed
  • Ghee - 2 tbsp + 1/2 tbsp

Instructions

  • Add green moong beans, moong dal, and rice into the Instant Pot vessel; wash well and drain the water
  • Add water, salt, turmeric powder, and 1/2 tbsp of ghee
  • Turn on the IP in manual mode and cook for 25 minutes. Let the pressure release naturally
  • Add the remaining ghee and serve hot with pickle, papad, and some roasted vegetables

Notes

  1.  Khichdi can be made in pressure cooker for 5 whistles
  2. Chilli powder can be added for spicy. I generally use pickle as a side for us
  3.  Vegetable can be added while preparing Khichdi
  4. Khichdi can also be cooked in pressure cooker for 5 whistles and pressure pressure release
