    One Pot karamani rice

Arisi karamani Sadam (rice and dal) rice is inspired by the famous Coimbatore special rice.  protein-rich filling meal With minimal ingredients tastes great. One-pot rice can be prepared in a pressure cooker and Instant Pot.

    Soak karamani

Soaking lobia overnight helps for perfect cooking. If you forget to soak overnight, soak in hot water for hours till they turn the soft press. If black-eyes peas are not soaked well, they might not cook properly. I refer to roasting the black-eyed peas till they turn golden brown and aromatic

Should I soak rice + dal?

Yes, I prefer soaking rice + dal for better soaking when making one-pot dal-based recipes.  Well-soaked rice + dal yields the best Arisi paruppu Sadam.

I have used sona masoori rice. Instead, you can use any rice of your choice. Adjust water accordingly.

Can I add other masala powders?

You can use any spice/ masala powder to make it suit your taste buds.

What tastes best with payaru sadham?

rice tastes good with  ellu thuvaiyal, raita varieties, Vadam recipe, Poriyal variety, coconut-based dishes, tamarind-based recipes

What should be the ratio of rice dal?

It is according to individual preference. To have more protein I have used 1:1

How to make instant pot Coimbatore style payaru satham?

    Cook in rice mode

How to make Arisi paruppu sadam toddler-friendly?
