Thalicha Thayir | Dahi Tadka is an instant mor kuzhambu recipe. As the name suggests this mor kuzhambu is cooked without any vegetables and grinding (no coconut) with just thalipu.

I love curd-based recipes and have posted many yogurt-based recipes in TMF. When it comes to Mor kuzhambu variety, I usually prepare a version with ground coconut-like Vendakkai mor kuzhambu, mambazha mor kuzhambu, paruppu Urundai Kuzhambu, thenga aracha Kuzhambu. This Pachai Mor Kuzhambu recipe is without coconut.
can I skip onion and garlic?
it gives a nice flavor to the kuzhambu so I would recommend you skip it according to your taste

yes, you can add veggies of your choice.

it depends on your preferred taste. I generally use slightly use curd

Kuzhambu recipes without tamarind
Ingredients
3/4 cup thick curd
1/2 tablespoon peanut oil
Water
1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds
Green chili
1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
1/4 cup onion
1/2 teaspoon coriander powder
2 garlic
1/2 teaspoon Kashmiri chilli powder
Turmeric powder
Coriander leaves
How to make Thalicha thayir with step-by-step pictures
- First whisk curd well
- temper mustard seeds and cumin seeds
- saute green chilli, onion, and garlic well
- simmer the flame
- add turmeric powder, coriander powder, and Kashmiri chilli powder; saute well
- turn off the stove
- mix well and add curd immediately transfer to the curd vessel; mix well
- garnish with coriander leaves
