Coming back to Celery, after coming to the US, I got acquainted with Celery.  I am not a big fan of celery but the healthy aspects of celery made me include it often at home. Nowadays I started buying celery in Costco, and have been preparing smoothies regularly.

April 16, 2018 By Vidya Srinivasan Leave a Comment

    capciumcurry

Capsicum Curry is a quick tasty side that can be prepared within 15 minutes. It tastes yum with rice and chappati. Freshly ground roasted Channa dal and nuts powder gives nice flavor to the poriyal.

Today morning I was checking my phone and realized that it is been almost a week since I posted a recipe in TMF. Me and my break never ended shortly, so I wanted to post this capsicum curry which I had  in my draft for a while. I have been posting side dish recipes recently and this is one tasty variation that I often do at home.

Back in Bentonville days, when one of our friends invited us for lunch, she prepared Beans with onion, fennel seeds and besan flour. In our home side dish for rice will be mostly with Thengai. You would have seen my Avarakkai with onion and coconut after that this is one of my favorite version with onion.

kadamba  Poriyal | mixed veg poriyal  | cabbage thengai curry | cabbage curry with step-by-step pictures and video recipe. Check out the Kadamba poriyal and If you like the video pls SUBSCRIBE to my channel

kadamba  Poriyal | mixed veg portal | cabbage thengai curry is a quick south Indian dry side dish recipe in Instant pot. Almond flour is used instead of coconut for this curry. This Vegan dry mixed vegetable side goes well with rice. Kadhamba curry can be made within 10 minutes and is perfect for busy mornings.

My almond flour madness continues, but this time I did not make a sweet. Ever since I started buying Almond flour from Costco, I have been using almond flour a lot in cooking. Initially, I used it because I had a big packet in my pantry, but over a period of time I started using it regularly and my family didn’t feel much taste difference.

One day when I made kadamba Poriyal   I took out the coconut from the freezer, but I was in a hurry to pack hubby’s lunch, so I used little almond flour and we all liked it. If used in a small quantity Almond flour is one great replacement for coconut in poriyal, Kootu, Sambar, kurma, etc.

Baked carrot fries | Carrot fries are quick 15 minutes tasty after school snacks  for kids. Healthy and tasty way  to make kids eat carrots.

Carrot is one vegetable which comes under top 5 least favorite veggies in my son’s list. I usually try to mix it with other veggies, and I hide carrots to make him eat. Most of the time even before tasting I would hear a big no from him. I always wonder how a kid with sweet tooth is a not a fan of a vegetable with mild touch of sweetness.

Few weeks back when my son had a play date, I made sweet potato fries for the kids, and I saw them eating happily. That’s when I thought of trying carrot fries. If it works carrot might be the next broccoli for him. Yeah broccoli was another vegetable he never tasted, until baked broccoli was experimented. Now a days it has become one of his frequently wanted vegetable.
